My Birthday Gift For Life!

February 1, 2013 By Eileen Carter-Campos

Our son turns nine years old today, February 1, 2013 and I can hardly believe it. I remember him being born the day before my birthday and thinking this is my birthday gift for life! A gift that is far and far better than the birthday and sympathy gift baskets anyone can imagine. He was planned from the very beginning, I even remember the day he was conceived. I knew he would be a special person and would hold the key to my heart forever. I wrote him letters while he was in my womb and this one I am honored to say that I can express right here on my platform –MommyTeaches.

Typic-3

Dear Victorio,

I can hardly believe that I have had you in my life for nine whole years. Every minute has been a blessing being in your presence. You are a phenomenal little boy- caring, sympathetic, fun, creative, and adventurous. You are everything that I hoped for in my dreams and more. Every day that goes by you remind me of the importance of my role as your mom. You make me smile and appreciate holding this honorary title of “Mother”. When you wake up in the morning you greet me with the biggest, “Good Morning” and kiss. Even when you aren’t so happy, the way that you come in close to get a hug to let me know it’s not such a great morning makes me love you even more. You express to me what you need and I love that about you. I appreciate the relationship we have and only hope that it continues to grow as you get older.

As I sit by your side while you do homework every day I marvel at how smart you are. You work hard and you are determined to learn. You have this eagerness about you that I love. You also have fun while you learn and always laugh. As I watch you, I remember that first time you ever held a crayon and wrote all over our wall in our home. Instead of washing it off we left it and allowed you to continue adding to this mural you so freely created. When you create pictures now we continue to celebrate you and our home looks like a museum of all the items you create. When you paint and play with your brother your imagination runs wild. You are a very caring brother and at times can drive your little brother crazy but I know he loves being around you. He wants to do everything you do and tells you out of the blue, “I love you Tado, you’re the best brother in the whole life!”. This shows me that you are having the same impact on him that you have on your father and I.

Typic-4

Today on your ninth birthday I hope you know how truly loved you are. You are the guiding force of all that your father and I do. You make us better people and a stronger couple to model to you just what love is, looks like, and feels like. We adore you for who you are and will always be by your side to motivate, encourage and inspire you. You make us proud every single day and we know you will only continue to make us prouder. Happy Birthday my sweet child!!
