Creating an Active Mami Lifestyle {#Huggies Giveaway}

August 22, 2014 By Eileen Carter-Campos

**Disclosure: This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Huggies and Latina Mom Bloggers. However, all opinions expressed are my own. **

My boys have always been very active. My youngest began walking at 9 months. Yes, 9 months! Growing up myself, I was in all sorts of sports: I was a catcher while my sister pitched in softball, I was a Cheerleader (booster) in high school and I’ve walked all my life – my calves are living proof of it! There was no doubt that our boys would be active with a Mami like me, and we totally embrace all of their movement by taking part in activity with them!

Little Movers

I love that Huggies has partnered with leading fitness movement expert Nikki Glor and MyGym (national children’s fitness center) to show parents how to embrace those “MovingMoments”. Those jumps, turns, somersaults, rolls, leaps and runs are no joke for us parents! Recently, as part of this campaign, I loved displaying all of our #MovingMoments on Instagram because this is what my boys and I do on a daily basis, movement is our life! Huggies Little Movers and Nikki are taking over active baby classes at MyGym locations across the country to model to parents fun, easy and great movement activities that can last a lifetime. For this active mom (who remembers diapering active babies), I appreciate how the new double grip strips give our most prized possessions a comfy fit with the soft velcro strips that last and enable them to show off their signature moves!

Huggie_PhotoChallenge3-2 Huggies took me back to four years ago when my baby wanted to move with Mami wherever I went. He didn’t walk, he ran! And running with comfort is important for any mom and her child. New! Huggies® Little Movers Diapers with Double Grip Strips gives your baby a comfier fit over time than Pampers Cruisers and you can find them in grocery stores nationwide, how’s that for convenience? Convenient for parents and comfy for babies, Huggies has it all!

photo.PNG-63 As a part of this campaign I enjoyed capturing those Moving Moments with my boys, now 5 and 10 years old. It allowed me to capture how much they have grown and how active we are as a familia now, which is truly important to me! I really felt at home snapping away the photos because moving is what keep us healthy and active as a family. It allows us quality family time together which we cherish! Although my boys aren’t babies anymore, they will always be my babies who I want comfortable, even when they’re most active.

Here are some simple ways we stay active with our own two kids:

  • We take early morning walks in the park to cherish the time we have with one another.
  • Evening walks as a family allow us to appreciate the sunset and each other’s company.
  • Long bike rides as a family.
  • Dirt bike riding as a family through the hills.
  • Playing soccer by the water.
  • Having relay races and running on the playground.

All these activities are what my family and I do in real life! There is no faking our activity on Instagram! I am not in the best shape, but it’s important for my kids to see Mami active! If I want them to be active, I need to model that lifestyle for them… no EXCUSES!!! Those moments are captured in my photos and in the way we maintain our activity level as a family!

    My little guy had an Elmo tool bench that played music. He’d put his little hard hat on and dance around that thing for hours! I miss those days! 🙂

    My favorite #movingmoment with my son Jimmy, he was 13 months & pulled himself up to dance to a Billy Joel’s River of Dreams. He still boogies & loves a Billy Joel. For his 18 th birthday I took him to MSG to see Billy Joel’s concert. And the whole time he danced I couldn’t help but remember the diaper dance from years ago.

    We have the perfect family on LI that could really use this prize.

    […] We are very active in our household. Whether we are on the trampoline, swimming in our pool, playing soccer in our huge backyard or riding dirt bikes together, we make being fit fun. We also take our activities away from our home by making it a priority to go to the park and stay for a couple hours on a regular basis. I adore how LeapFrog incorporates this with the LeapBand activity tracker, designed to keep kids active by tapping into their own individual movements without any equipment required! That’s my type of device! […]
