Every Blogger Should Attend #Latism13

September 19, 2013 By Eileen Carter-Campos

If you haven’t heard about #Latism13 then you haven’t been on the twitter stream as much as this blogger! Not a moment passes that tweets with the hashtags #Latism #Latism13 #Latinos is not flowing through my tweetstream. These are hashtags that give me great pride and a sense of community, something Latism nurtures right alongside me and so many other bloggers.

For those of you who don’t know, Latism was founded in 2009 by Ana Roca Castro. It stands for Latinos in Tech Innovation and Social Media. This community actively engages and equips you with the tools to make significant changes in your life. You are immersed in a discussion every Thursday on politics (immigration reform), healthcare, education, and a variety of other important subjects. I openly joke that it’s like a family reunion because it truly is. It’s a meeting that often takes a good 15 minutes to get started because we all greet one another as if we were in our own living room, getting nice and comfy, ready to catch up.

I stumbled upon LATISM about two years ago when I was tweeting along using the hashtag and I was immediately received with open arms. My presence was recognized and I was welcomed into the discussion. As part of the LATISM community, you are motivated, encouraged, inspired, and supported in more ways than one. While attending BlogHer, I attended the Latism party was immediately embraced. I felt welcomed as if they had known me for years.

There is no doubt that if you attend a Latism conference you too will be embraced like familia. This year #Latism13 will be at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City and I cannot wait! The event will take place September 19th-September 22nd. The conference focuses on Business, Health, Technology, and Education, all integrated into technology and social media. You will have the opportunity to learn from the best in their niche and network, taking your own blogs to a whole new level of excellence and notability. If you have not attended this conference, this is the year to go!

There is no doubt in my mind that after attending this conference you will feel rejuvenated, inspired, and ready to achieve new heights on your blog. The force and power of this community will rock you, making you want more from yourself and your personal brand. Its leadership is contagious and will motivate you to reach higher goals. Latism is truly a life-changing experience and one that you should to be a part of. I myself am honored to be a part of this divine community of leaders and I can’t wait to welcome you.

Looking forward to seeing you there! Don’t forget to spread that #Latism13 hashtag on Twitter!
